Linguini Fini, Central, Hong Kong

I have been to Linguini Fini a number of times now, mainly for lunch with colleagues and friends. Linguini Fini has been opened for a few years and is located in the L Place which is in Central. There have been mix reviews about this place and my meals here have been a bit of a hit and miss too. Linguini Fini offers diners set lunch starting from HKD 88 which includes pasta and a drink and daily specials. Unfortunately I didn’t take photos for every single visit.

We started with some bread, which was ok, I have definitely had better bread! I do like the bread basket tin though, very retro and very cute!

The salad to start off with – it was tasty but nothing special I thought.

I couldn’t go past the fried chicken which was the daily special from memory. Unfortunately the batter was a little thick albeit crunchy. The beans with garlic were a wonderful complement.

Dad couldn’t go past the fragrant grass pasta – goat cheese fondata. The pasta was al dente, the sauce was just right, the goat cheese wasn’t too overpowering.

Mum had the classic linguini fini – puttanesca and she absolutely loved it! The tomato sauce, the olives, it was wonderful she said.

I think my set meal came with dessert, in the past they had gelato which was tasty but that day, they had a cookie – I can’t for the life of me remember what kind they were but Dad had it and said it was moist and chewy!

Service was quick and efficient. They do take reservations for lunch which is good as the place was extremely busy. Like I said earlier my meals here has been a bit of a hit and miss. This was obviously a hit, I came here with another colleague earlier and it wasn’t great, my pasta was too salty and lacked flavour. Would I go back again? Not rushing back soon that’s for sure.
